Cookie is a yellow Labrador Retriever, born on 12th July 2006. in a village near our town. He came from a litter of 2 brown, 2 black, and 2 yellow puppies. Cookie was my choice… I fell immediately for a small, round furball that was playing with a rug.

Cookie’s pedigree name is Sam, but I had decided to call him Cookie ever since I convinced my parents that we buy a dog. Cookie may have two meanings (it’s spelled all the same in Serbian): one comes from the English “cookie”, and the other from Serbian “kuca” (which means “small dog”). Cookie was almost two months old when he came to our home, and now, he’s the spoiled child of our family!

Being a Labrador, Cookie loves to eat (he will eat almost everything, but since he has a sensitive stomach, like most big breeds, we tend to stick to dry food), he loves water (whenever the weather allows us, I take him to the Danube river where he retrieves all the plastic bottles floating in it), and of course, retrieving being in his genes, I never needed to teach him to fetch a stick when I throw it for him. Cookie never barks. He wags his tail to literally everybody. He is lively, energetic, and of course, cuddly. He seldom remembers not to pull on the leash (although I am doing my best to insist on it). Apart from that, he is very quiet. I’ve never seen a more quiet dog in my life. When he is left alone, or by accident forgotten in the bathroom (happened a few times) he will not let a single squeak (that is why he was forgotten at first place). He is very scared of thunderstorms and strong winds.

Cookie is our first dog, thus too spoilt for our taste, but deep inside he is a good-hearted fellow who remains loyal to his family (and everybody else who pays the slightest attention to him). Sometimes it seems that he has enough place in his heart  to love just everybody!
